State Parks and Nature Areas

Inspiration and necessity are the two great motivators for change, in my view. Unfortunately, most people are not inspired to change until necessity comes calling on them. At any rate, nature and art inspire me. I hope you visit a few of the places I list here and give them a try. Many of the places listed are among my favorite getaways from the stresses of city living.

  • Fall Creek Falls
One of the most beautiful places on Earth. It is about an hour east of Nashville and infinitely worth the drive.

  • Montgomery Bell State Park
Located in Dickson, Tennessee. An excellent place to just get away from it all.

  • The Parthenon
Located in Centennial Park, this is the world's only full size replica of the ancient Parthenon. It is also an art gallery with a quite extensive collection.

  • Warner Park Nature Center
I am fortunate enough to life within walking distance from this excellent park. I hike there quite often, mostly in the spring time though. This spring I am going to do some paintins of wildflowers there.

  • Bledsoe Creek State Park

  • Cedars of Lebanon

  • Long Hunter State Park
